The aim is to create a home where artists and the community can access flexible, bright, and open spaces for gathering. Since announcing Barozzi Veiga as the architects for the project in February of 2020, Oolite Arts and the firm’s Principals-Fabrizio Barozzi and Alberto Veiga-have been working in collaboration with Charles H. It will provide ample room for up to 21 free, individual studio spaces for artists, an exhibition gallery, a theater, two classrooms, a makerspace, a print studio, and the organization’s offices. He currently teaches visual arts at Miami Arts Charter School (MAC). During his time at SAIC, he enrolled in Ox-Bow School of the Arts, an artist residency in Saugatuck, Michigan. Matthew continued his education at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC) and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting, Drawing, and Printmaking. He began his art school studies at Pensacola State College where he received his Associate’s degree in Visual Arts. With the guidance of our expert instructor, you’ll learn how to transfer your designs from the sheet to paper using hand rubbing or our printing press. In this exciting workshop, you’ll delve into the world of Monotype and explore the different techniques available, from the light-field additive method to the dark-field reductive approach, as well as tracing techniques. Often known as “painter prints,” Monotype is a printmaking technique that produces one-of-a-kind, visually striking works of art.
